There was a formal country ambience to this restaurant:  tables were set in fresh white linens and silver flatware, with live piano music playing in the background.  It was warm and intimate.

The caesar salad was delivered on a chilled plate, and the fresh garlic was detectable from several feet away.  Hearts of romaine were topped with whole anchovies, crostini and grated cheese.  The dressing was creamy, and maybe too much so....   And although at first glance it may have seemed like the perfect salad, there was a peculiar bite to it.  Nothing bad - just "different".  And unfortunately, I found myself "trying to figure out what that bite was" more than enjoying the salad.  So it didn't capture my heart, or my tastebuds.  It may require another visit, but in the meantime, I'm going to have to give it a cool "2".
