Almost 2 years later, and I have returned to sample another caesar salad.... First I'll review the vegan caesar (free of animal products): it was a delightful surprise! My arm had to be twisted to try it, but after I did, I refused to leave any leftovers, which still tasted wonderful the next day. And although here was no egg, cheese or anchovy in the dressing, it sparked with flavor, most of which came from the spicy croutons made of tempeh (a soybean product). The romaine was fresh, green and appealing to the eye. This version of vegan ceasar is a real find. And for all you "enthusiasts" out there who just love a good caesar salad, but can't have the traditional ingredients, this is the salad to go for!
- CS The traditional caesar salad was served on a nicely chilled plate. Nicely sized pieces of romaine filled the plate, and there was a flavorful "bite" to the dressing, which was creamy with tiny bits of anchovy and grated Sonoma Dry Jack Cheese. The service was excellent and the dining room busy. Other menu items were delicious, but the vegan won my heart over the traditional caesar here....
